CARE AND MATERIALS

Jewelry
Griegst pieces should be worn and enjoyed at all times. When not using your piece of jewelry, we always recommend you to store the jewelry in its Griegst suede pouch that is complimentary with your purchase.

We do not recommend trying to clean jewelry yourself; instead we highly advise you to get your Griegst piece cleaned at the goldsmith affiliated with Griegst. Should you wish to clean it yourself anyhow, you can use a gentle dishwashing soap and lukewarm water, then pat dry.

When wearing your piece of Griegst jewelry, inevitably over time, pieces need occasional polishing, adjustment or repair. To ensure the proper level of craftsmanship, any repairs or alterations of Griegst jewelry should only be performed by the goldsmith affiliated with Griegst. Kindly contact us beforehand. Repairs or modifications made outside the Griegst workshop may affect the original design of the piece.

Spira Cutlery

The Spira silver cutlery produced by Georg Jensen is made of the finest quality of silver available, 925 sterling silver. This particularly fine grade of silver is only used for products where quality and appearance are paramount.

Washing
To keep your cutlery looking as good as possible, it should be washed and dried immediately after use. If it is washed by hand, use a mild washing-up liquid. You should also avoid leaving the cutlery unwashed or letting it soak overnight, as this may leave stains. Using a dishwasher is not recommended, as this can scratch the cutlery, while the salt and rinse agent can leave black marks and blotches on the surface.

Polishing
The more often silver cutlery is used, the more beautiful it becomes. And the more it is used, the less it has to be polished. If your cutlery is used every day, it will not have to be polished very often. We recommend Georg Jensen silver polish for this job.

Precautions
Fine silver is sensitive, so the following precautions should be taken:
- Do not let the cutlery come into contact with water with a high salt, chlorine or iron content, as this may leave small rust spots.
- Acid from food, e.g. mustard and egg, can also attack the silver and the steel blades of the knives, causing stains. If the worst happens, remove the stains gently with Georg Jensen silver Polish.

Storage
If you want to keep your cutlery looking good for as long as possible, it should be stored in a drawer with felt-covered dividers for the individual items.
