Created in the early seventies, Arje Griegst turned gold into quivering and ribbed lines. At once organic and stylized, the Spiral collection is hypnotic in its fluidity and warm glow, like locks of golden hair.

To determine your ring size, do the following:

  • Use a piece of string or dental floss and wrap it around the base of your finger.
  • Use a pen to mark the point on the string where the end meets.
  • Use a millimeter ruler to measure the string.
  • Choose the closest measurement to the chart above to find your ring size.

Tips for best results:

  • Allow enough room to accommodate your knuckle.
  • Bear in mind, different fingers on the same and the opposite hand may have different sizes. Therefore, measure the specific finger on which you are planning to wear the ring.
  • Measure your finger at the end of the day when your finger is likely to be largest.

SPIRAL HISTORY

”In the master’s hand the gold comes alive for the marvellous material it is. No one can get the gold to speak like Arje Griegst. Not merely that it always glitters, but gold as a marvellous malleable material with many hues; soft, warm and organic.” – The Bank of Denmark Jubilee Foundation’s Honorary Grant, 1999

CLOSEUP OF THE "CONCH SHELL VARIATION" CANDELABRUM

The gilded bronze ribbons on the candelabrum twist as if caught by the wind, they swirl unrestrainedly in the air. The candelabrum is a continuation of the Spiral jewellery that Arje made a few years earlier.

SPIRAL BRACELET NO. 10, 18K GOLD.

What fascinated Arje was the metal’s capacity to reflect light, keep its lustre and make jewels glow. The Spiral series reveals his ability to depict essentially different expressions and the design moves as if along a natural trail.

SPIRAL BRACELET CATALOGUE, 18K GOLD, 1973.

His works in silver, gold and precious stones, porcelain and glass demonstrate a mystical fantasy world.
