TRITON
50 years after first being introduced at Royal Copenhagen’s flagship store, Arje Griegst’s fabled Triton collection makes a comeback in the very same location.
"For me personally, it has been an emotional and deeply rewarding journey to see both the craftsmanship and vision come to life once again, through many of the very same hands that helped bring it into the world decades ago."
– Noam Griegst.
Exhibition
A masterpiece resurfaces incites a museological exercise of optical illusions, where Royal Copenhagen presents the creative process behind Arje Griegst’s remarkable designs in three new colours – palest Sand beige, Ocean blue and light Celadon green.
10 – 12 June, 10:00 – 18:00
Amagertorv 6
1160 Copenhagen
Inviting guests inside Arje’s world, the exhibition reveals the inspirations and working tools of the Triton collection in a series of infinity-mirror vitrines. From his personal collection of seashells to the artist’s own Musselmalet teapot as well as original porcelain jewellery and moulds from the workshop, the artistic process is celebrated from start to finish.
The enchanted Triton collection, which invokes natural archetypes in porcelain in a wavy, seashell fantasy, has been resurrected in close collaboration with the Griegst family, who have also co-curated the exhibition. The installation voyages through the project’s origins in the 1970s to today’s revival of its exquisite craftsmanship.
DOUBLE STARDUST DIAMOND
Crafted in Denmark from 18K yellow gold, the Double Stardust Diamond ring by Arje Griegst evokes a golden wave in motion through its fluid, organic, sculptural form. The ring is set with thirteen TW VVS brilliant-cut diamonds surrounding a 0.80 ct. centre diamond. In the early 1990s, Griegst returned to his lifelong fascination with the universe, creating the Stardust series.
Spiral series
Third Eye, Bark Ring and Spiral Earstick No. 4. Each piece is handmade in Denmark from 18K yellow gold.
Defined by sculptural goldwork and organic, asymmetrical lines, Arje's jewelry is a testament to his unique vision. One of his most legendary collections, the Spiral series, emerged in the 1970s from an interest in movement and the concept of achieving a feel "melting" gold. These pieces are admired for their ribbed, fluid aesthetic, appearing as though the gold is still liquid.
